Hooray. Another political blog, that's just what we need. Pretty sure, if you're like me, that's exactly what you're thinking right now. More voices, more people shouting and clamoring to be heard. If you can bare with me for a couple of paragraphs, allow me to explain what and why this blog is and hopefully will become.
It starts with my wife. We tend to have a couple of political discussions each week. One of her common 'complaints' is that she does feel as if she has the energy to read up on things or dig into underlying issues surrounding a lot of what happens in politics today. This blog, at it's core, is about two things. Making politics easy for my wife, (Hi baby, you're on the internet!) and easy for other people.
If you don't know me personally, you're probably wondering 'who the heck does this guy think he is to be trying to educate me on politics?' And without knowing me, you'd be absolutely right. However, you don't know me, so it's a clean slate.
I've spent the last 15 years of my life reading about, studying, learning and considering politics. Actually, my original plan was to go to college to become a politician! And I continue to delve into political thought and discussions, and what I believe is really at the core of everything that drives politics. 1a Fear and 1b, Money. More or less, I do tons of studying and reading with the express purpose of being able to break things down simply to people who don't have the time to do it themselves.
And that, in a nutshell, is Politithink. Making politics easy for everyone. Hopefully it's an educational ride for all of us.
(If you're curious, the three guys in the pictures are three of my political 'mentors,' so to speak, guys who helped make politics easy for me)
